Learn how to create a shelter for emergency survival, concealment or protection. Make being in the outdoors more fun — and more comfortable. Excellent for families to do together!
Morning: Emergency shelter building and dens using all materials including plastic bags or other objects that you may have on you or find nearby. You can book this session on its own or opt for both sessions.
Afternoon: Shelter building with all natural materials, inspired by primitive peoples and bushcraft. This session will include some cordage (rope and cord) making. You can book this session on its own or opt for both sessions.
We don’t just use our eyes and ears to learn the ancient skills or to experience the landscape, we immerse ourself in it and discover through tasting, feeling and smelling too – if you can. By enlisting all the power of your senses, you learn deeply and gain a profound connection with nature, the history of human fire making and thus your entire world.
We are based on the 1300 acre Bamff Estate, by Alyth in beautiful Perthshire. During and after your session, discover wild beaver dams, otters, roe deer and red squirrels.
By the end of the afternoon session you may hear the owls hooting and maybe even see the beavers!
Ideal for children 7 and up, though younger children are welcome (parents/guardians may need to give additional help)
Single ticket: £18/person per session or £30/person for full day
Family ticket: £25/session or £45/day (2 adults, with our without children)
This session is part of our Family Fun Outdoors event, taking place from 14-18 February 2018.
