Location: Stenness (few miles from Stromness)
2010 prices: £24 – £35/person
Why we like it: It’s an old millhouse, so the interior has retained many original features.
Morag has a number of rooms, including a family suite with multiple rooms and living area.
Location: Harray (10 miles from Stromness)
Price: £48/person
Why we like it: Lovely, charming and classy house and grounds.
Owners Jan and John Stockan are very friendly and helpful.
2010 Prices: from £30/person
Why we like it: Renowned for doing good breakfasts.
Conveniently placed in Stromness, with just a 2 minute walk from the ferry port.
Location: Finstown (West Mainland)
2010 Prices: from £295/week
Why we like it: Centrally located for major sites like Ring of Brodgar and Maes Howe.
Recently restored buildings mixing traditional and ultra modern.
