3 Day Orkney Experience

Rucksack on clifftop3 Day Orkney Experience

Orkney is full of amazing sights, many of which are regularly missed by visitors because they’re not in the guidebooks or are hard to find.

We’ve spent years exploring, finding our favourite locations and tailoring them to the kinds of experiences our guests most want to have.

Tell us a bit about what you want and we’ll come up with your magical holiday.

It is entirely possible for you to be truly eco-friendly and to explore Orkney without using a car or bus. We will guide you however best suits you.

What happens on a 3 Day Experience?

The Five Senses 3 Day Orkney Experience brings together the best of our local knowledge, guiding experience, outdoor skills and many years offering the best hospitality. We will take you to the best places for you and open your senses to what Orkney has to offer. We also offer you adventure and crafts and things to do in the evenings, to create a total experience, of activity, rest and rejuvenation.

  • Visit both World Heritage sites and off-the-beaten-track places, to suit you
  • Sample fun, simple outdoor skills that will transform your relationship with the outdoors
  • Witness the ancient art of making fire with a bow drill, a skill practiced for thousands of years and one that is guaranteed to be magical
  • Taste local foods, get a flavour of real life here, and get the locals’ perspective
  • walk outdoors, beside the ocean, over moorland and discover the few special trees

Tailored to your interests, your needs

Thanks very much for your thoughtful guiding me through the variety of landscapes, habitats, plants, and birds that Orkney has to offer. You really did a superb job of designing a program that suited me, and maximized the brief time I had in Orkney. I particularly enjoyed seeing the connection between the Neolithic and modern sites. That was amazing. – Rita Zamluk

We will talk with you in advance to find out what you most want, your interests, fitness, mobility and travel plans.

We will help you from start to finish, advising on the best accommodation for you, the best transport, the most magical places, times and prices. And we’ll even work with the weather too.

Our hearth

We also welcome you into our home so you can get a flavour of real life in Orkney: local foods, music tastes, the news and environmental concerns.

Relax beside the fire, chatting, or try out spinning, making rush lights, nettle tea from our shore. Give yourself time for a real holiday experience.
